DAYS FOR GIRLS, CLERMONT TEAM

Our first official sewing day was Thursday, September 26 in the social hall at First United Methodist church. 25 women showed up to learn and  to sew.
All the material has to be washed and ironed. We need 100% cotton fabric and flannel. It should be dark colors and no gold. It may not have any animals or any thing with eyes, symbols, or logos.
Karen, on the right, along with Pam are the team organizers. Karen, showing Yvonne how to trace and cut out the cotton material for the shield covers.
Pat, who works with another team, helped to show Mary how to put a shield together. No pins may be used and there are several layers.
Pam (thanks to her we have a team), Judy, Kim and Karla sewing the shields
Linda measured and cut the liners.
This group is sewing the tote bags.
Mimi talking to Sharon. Sharon is using her serger and there is a lot of edges that must be serged..
Ribbons being measured and cut for the tote bags.
Carol burning the end of the ribbon.
So you can tell there are lots of steps to making a kit. And there are lots of jobs that do not require you to sew.  Come and join the team on October 10 at 9 o'clock. There is a job for everyone.
