RE ACT

The youth at the church had ReAct from June 7 to the 11th.  They lived at the church for the week going out during the day to serve in the community. They painted and did lawn maintence for those in the community that were not able to. UMW provided most of the evening meals. Lunch Bunch helped serve the meal on Monday night. Circle of Grace and Daughter of Lydia made and served the meal on Wednesday night. Jodi and Kathy fixed the garlic toast.

Ann had the meal will planned out, organized and ready to serve on time. Thanks to Noelene and her husband's help.  Lasagna, salad and garlic bread was on the menu. Lots of cookies and cupcakes were sent for dessert.

Thanks to the ladies that did the laundry of the youth's dirty clothes, and those who opened their homes to them for showers after hot days of work. The mission field is in our own community and many showed God's love to others this week.

SONSHINE BASKETS

On June 12 a group of volunteers with Harbour Hope met at the Grove Church in  Winter Garden.

Between the Lunch Bunch and Circle of Grace six bags full of items were donated to help fill the SONshine baskets. This is a project to spread  some joy and show God's love to women who have been rescued from sex trafficking and are being mentored by Harbour Hope.

There was lot of jewelry, makeup, and personal care items.

Baskets were filled and wrapped.

A nice note with a little handwritten message was tied on the finished basket. 26 baskets were assembled.
Some of the volunteer worker's children helped to make baskets for children.

They wrote a message on the card for the baskets they made.

If a woman who was receiving a baskets had children they also received a basket just for their child. 14 children's baskets were made.  It was a beautiful way of sharing Jesus with these women. Thanks to all that contributed.
